3. The Task What effects does extreme weather like floods have on our landscapes? To answer the question above you must complete the following steps step 1. click on the volcano below, this will take you to the resources page and click on the first web link and watch the video Step 2. after you have watch the first video click on the second web link and watch the second video click on the volcano

4. Step 3. there is a list of effects caused by natural disasters/extreme weather below and there is a list of natural disasters. You have to match up the effect and the picture and type in what natural disaster would cause that effect. Click on the hurricane. This will take you to where you will complete the activity. The effects unrecyclable debris, water-borne illnesses, Chemicals pollute clean waters, oil spills, Soil/sand erosion, destroy drainage systems, Toxic materials release into water supply, Erosions to coasts, Animals killed, Crops destroyed Natural Disasters Floods, tsunamis, earthquake, cyclones, volcanoes, hurricanes Click on the hurricane

5. Step 4. set up outside is large containers with sand in them and buckets with water in them. In groups you are to pour the bucket of water in to the container with sand and watch what happens. Before you go outside you must write this question in your book and answer it Q1. What do you think will happen when the water is poured over the sand? Students are then to come back inside and answer these questions in their books. Firstly students have to write the questions out fully in their books. Q2. what happened to the sand when the water was poured on it? Q3. why did this happen?
