lots of discussion and debate coming close to conclusion accountabilities and responsibilities roles and resources intentions and ambitions pros and cons givens –providers will still exist –provision needs/deserves better IT –integrated services need even better IT –the new world will be more permissive Future State

government gets it / society gets it patients get it / clinicians get it management gets it / leadership gets it technology gets it – new capabilities fundamental challenge is unchanged not sure there has been a better time Opportunities

board level understanding and commitment clinical leadership / ownership / vision a change programme – not a project a new way of life – not a project make the case - don‘t compromise proper (deep) understanding of benefits and resources be BOLD be THOROUGH Basics are unchanged…

unprecedented opportunities ahead we owe it too our patients…. we owe it to our staff…. we owe it to the NHS…. we owe it to ourselves…. Make IT happen
