l There are 30 people at a bus stop. 10 vampires suddenly appear and each bite the same number of people. All the people are bitten. How many people did each vampire bite? l There are 4 caterpillars on a tree. Each caterpillar eats 9 leaves. What is the total number of leaves eaten?

Problem Solving l A man goes to a pet shop to buy equipment for his new dog. The pet shop owner shows him a bowl at £2.50, some dog treats at £3.75, a collar at £5.50, and a chew toy at £7.95. How much money does the man need to buy one of each?

Problem Solving l You have a bag of 36 marbles. Some are red, some yellow and the rest are blue. If 1/4 are red, how many marbles are red? l If 1/2 are yellow, how many blue marbles do you have? l How many yellow marbles are in 3 bags altogether?

Problem Solving l I think of a number. I double it and add 6. My answer is 20, What number did I think of? l A bottle of coke holds 2 litres. A glass holds 350ml. How many full glasses of coke can you have? How many bottles of coke would you need for 10 glasses of coke?

Problem Solving l It is 5:35 in the afternoon. Neighbours lasts 25 minutes. What time does it end? l School starts at 8:50am. You wake up at 7:40 am. How long do you have to get ready for school?

Problem Solving l You go shopping after school. You have £1. A rainbow rubber costs 32p, a shiny pencil costs 28p, and a notebook costs 65p. How much would the rubber and notebook cost together?

Problem Solving l You have been given £2 for your birthday. You spend 29p on a packet of football stickers and 16p on a lollipop. How much have you spent?

Problem Solving l There are 12 pencils in a box, 28 children in the class. How many boxes of pencils would be needed if each child was given one pencil?
