Web-Bulletin Welcome to the summer edition of the Web-Bulletin for the Bromley Children and Young People Trust. Within this packed edition we highlight some of the major developments that we have been making within the Trust, as well introducing some new features, including board- talk which brings updates from the Trust Board, and bite-size which highlights some key facts about Bromley. We also highlight the work that we are doing behind the scenes to launch our new website in the Autumn, as well as launch our new Twitter site. We hope that you enjoy this edition. You can also find out details about future meetings of the Trust Board, including the “Procedure for Questions from the Public”. The new website, which forms part of the new Bromley Partnerships site, will be a single point of contact for the whole of the Bromley Strategic Partnership. It brings together a range of services focused on early intervention and prevention within the Borough, and is focused on making them locally accessible. They should be confident in a workforce which combines professional expertise, knowledge and skills, involves the child, young person and family throughout their work, and takes a shared responsibility in achieving outcomes for them. All the partners are committed to developing a workforce that can achieve its full potential with the support of clear, consistent leadership and management and with the help of common tools and processes, such as the Common Assessment Framework. We expect individuals and teams to collaborate and coordinate at all levels, across all services, in both single and multi-agency settings. By delivering a coordinated package of support that is centred on each individual child, we will meet their needs as early as possible and help to provide excellent service for all children, young people and families in Bromley.

Key information, including the presentations from Barnardo’s, the Metropolitan Police Service, and Oxleas Foundation NHS Trust can be found on the Safeguarding Board’s website. e childrens.trust@bromley.gov.uk w www.bromley.gov.uk/childrenstrust Page 15 summer edition 2009 (edition 12) Web-Bulletin local strategic partnership conference Direct link: www.bromleypartnerships.org/topic.asp?navid=14&tid=178 Over 80 key representatives from across Bromley’s Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) came together on Monday 15 June 2009 to help “build a better Bromley”. The half-day Conference at the Central Library gave an opportunity for all the key partners within the LSP to hear from each other. The attendees were then able to agree key actions to be taken forward over the next few months, before the Conference meets again in December 2009. e childrens.trust@bromley.gov.uk w www.bromley.gov.uk/childrenstrust Page 16 summer edition 2009 (edition 12) Web-Bulletin commissioning support programme Following the article within the last edition of the Web-Bulletin on the Commissioning Support Programme, we have started to increase Bromley’s presence on the site. For example, we have developed a user guide for our Trust, and one of our Officers is the first person to have a journal/blog on the site, as well as being the Programme’s first ‘expert of the month’. We have also taken part in an interview with the Programme which will culminate in the production of a ‘podcast’ which you will be able to listen to. If so, the website of the Children’s Commissioner is a useful source of information. The website is suitable for both adults, and children and young people, and provides information in a clear and concise way. Recent updates on the site have included: a report and film on gun and knife crime details on the 2009 11 Million Takeover Day Please do spend some time looking through the website to pick up some of the key messages and some ideas to support you to engage with children and young people.
