Essential question: How do I conjugate these new verbs and use them?
2
You conjugate a verb when you mention who does it. Every sentence needs a conjugated verb There are two parts to each verb – the stem and the ending There are –ar, -er and –ir verbs The infinitive is the unchanged form of the verb There are some irregulars
3
To conjugate, you take off the original ending and add the conjugation ending For –ar verbs: -o, -as, -a, -amos, -an For –er verbs: -o, -es, -e, -emos, -en For –ir verbs: -o, -es, -e, -imos, -en Ir, ser, estar, dar and tener are irregular

Tell your pareja 5 important details you have (or will write) in your notes Form and write 3 questions on the left, marking the answers on the right

These are verbs that have a spelling change in the stem when you conjugate them ◦ Tener is one you already know. ◦ The “e” becomes an “ie” for tienes, tiene, tienen For stem-changing verbs, you will see the stem change in the yo, tú, él/ella/Ud. And ellos/ellas/Uds forms You WILL NOT make a stem change in the nosotros form
6
There are four types of stem-changers e-ie o-ue e-I (we won’t be doing these verbs this chapter) u-ue
