2 arms  Arms: parts of the body that let you hold or carry something.  I will use my arms to carry the basket.

3 every  Every: all  Every: I will try to come to school every day.

4 Feet  Feet: part of the body attached to your legs.  Your feet smell!!!!

5 head  Head: part of the body that is attached to your neck. It has your eyes, nose, mouth, and ears.  Don’t be like an ostrich and sink your head in the sand.

6 school  School: a place where learning takes place.  School: I go to school to learn.

7 use  Use: to put forth an effort.  Use a quiet voice in the hall!

8 Way  Way: direction  Which way do I go?

9 your  Your: belongs to you.  Is that your puppy ?

10 long  Long: opposite of short.  That worm is long!

11 swug  Swug: to use both arms and throw.  He swug at the baseball and hit a homerun!!

12 Robust Vocabulary

13 ashamed  If you are ashamed you feel bad about having done something wrong.  Mouse felt ashamed when he kept dropping the ball.  Would you feel ashamed if you were mean to a friend? Why or why not?

14 mused  If you mused about something, you were thinking about it.  Mouse mused about Mother Earth’s suggestion.  I would muse about making an important decision

15 soared  If you soared, you flew very high into the air.  Mouse soared high in the air to catch the ball.  What are some animals that can soar in the sky?

16 athletic  An athletic person is active, strong and able to play sports well.  Jill was athletic because she was strong and could play baseball and soccer well.

17 awkward  If you are awkward, you move in a clumsy, rough way.  Jill was awkward when she tried to use her legs and feet to play soccer. She couldn’t make the ball go where she wanted it to go.

18 superb  If something is superb, it is the best it can be, or excellent.  Jill made a superb catch when she jumped up and caught Fran’s ball in midair.

26 ring  Ring: a piece of jewelry or the sound a bell makes.  Do you like my new ring?  If we hear the fire alarm ring, we have to go outside.

27 bring  Bring: to carry or tote.  Please bring the dirty dishes to the sink.

28 thing  Thing: a non-living article.  Thing: A pencil is a thing.

29 us  Us: a group of people or you and me.  All of us live on the planet earth.

30 must  Must: have to.  You must take out the trash or it will stink!!

31 does  Does: a asking word ?  Does: Does your sister like to ride her bike?

32 food  Food: something you eat, to chew and swallow.  My favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs.
