A prophet from 740 B.C. until 701 B.C. 1:1 He lived in Jerusalem and was adviser to kings A special commission in 739 B.C. 6:1-13 Section 1 (chapters 1-39) mostly about Assyrian captivity for Israel and chastening for Judah Includes many previews of church age Section 2 (Chapters 40-66) mostly prophecies about the church age
