Hezekiah Was a good King When he became King, he found that the Israelites worshipped idols and the bronze serpent The King burnt them and destroyed the altars of idols and stopped that worship. What did Hezekiah say to that? Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed. As Isaiah was leaving the king, and before he could leave the central courtyard of the palace, the Lord told him to go back to Hezekiah and tell him that, “I have heard your prayer…I will let you live 15 more years. I will rescue you from the King of Assyria.” Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed. When Hezekiah saw Isaiah coming back, he first thought that the Lord was displeased with his weeping through his prayers. However, when he heard the news, he rejoiced. They asked Isaiah, “What shall we do to the King? Shall we bring doctors?” But Isaiah said, “The Lord will perform a miracle. Doctors cannot heal them. Hezekiah had asked for a sign and Isaiah had spoken to him They were all surprised and praised the Lord. The King got well, left his bed and begun to work as usual, serving the Lord until he died 15 years later.
