Chapter 17 ~ lesson 2 Hope enables us to trust in God’s promise to be with us always. Isaiah called the people to be faithful to God and have hope. Isaiah said salvation would come only through the suffering of a servant of the Lord. As Christians we believe that God showed us his great love by sending his only Son to save us. Jesus fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy because he was without sin, he suffered for us, and gave us hope. The exiled Jews grew in faith and hope and in understanding their relationship with God.
