Rule 32 and Public Access IICM 2011 Rule 32 1 What is Rule 32? What is a record for purposes of Rule 32? Who are the custodians of judicial records? Who may ask for access to judicial records? What reasons must be given in order to obtain access to records? What kind of access is permitted: Must the request be in writing? How long does the custodian have to respond to the request? Should copies of requests be kept on file?

Repository use by Public When in doubt go the repository and sign on as public. If you are shown the record then it is ok to give to the public. This is always a good measure to go by.

Once you enter the clerk manual site remember to click remember me; allowing you to go directly into the Clerk’s Manual from now on without any fuss.
