Process Flow URRC Consist of VP R&D, Director RMC, Director CRIC, Director IPS, Director Unite, Deputy Director RMC (Cyber & Malacca), Deputy Dean R&D (FOE, FET, FCI, FIST & FCM) Review proposals every month Recommend proposals for PMC PMC Review proposals every month Recommend proposals for PSC All projects should secure a custodian before submission to PMC PSC Review proposals every qaurter Approve proposals 2

3. Maximum Project Cost Maximum of RM300,000, exclusive of: – PL salary (2 man-month) – Special equipment (scientific equipment for research only, not PC/laptop, printer, etc.) This is for a 2-year project, to pro-rate accordingly for other duration 3

4. Financial Guidelines 1/2 Conference and other TnT – maximum of RM15,000 per project or 20% of total cost (which ever is smaller) Training expenses should not be more than 10% of total cost Payment for honorarium, token of appreciation and books is capped at RM1,000 Cost of Workstation is capped at RM 3,500 and Laptop at RM 2,500 4

5. Financial Guidelines 2/2 PL salary – 2 man-month per year MMU FAC – 5% of initial project cost (manpower, material, equipment & incidental) Purchase of Phone and related fees are prohibited Special scientific equipment with strong justification only 5

6. Deliverables Journal papers – 2 indexed journals per project PG students – for every PG sponsored Intellectual Property (IP) – 1 per project 6
