6. What does the Bible say about humans from the creation story? Answer with your 5:00 partner. Humans are a creation of God. Humans are a mixture of earth and divine breath. Humans are good. Humans are male and female.

7. Name 3 things you learned from the story, “Flower, Mister?” Answer with your 11:00 partner. Various answers as long as they pertain to relationships and needing one another.

8. What are 3 things we learned from the story of Cain and Abel. Answer with your 4:00 partner. Various answers can be used as long as they pertain to how hatred hardens our hearts and our relationship with God. Always give God your best and never try to lie to God. We should always look out for others and be “our brother’s keeper.” Calm our emotions of envy and jealousy so they do not transform to rage, revenge and violence. Obey God and receive God’s blessings. Abel obeyed God and endured suffering for righteousness' sake.

Such as: All humans are sacred no matter their weaknesses or strengths. We evolve by looking at the past and reflecting on how they are to be lived in the future. Maturity comes from working with others. We need to be encouraged to make choices and to become responsible for ourselves and others. We need to accept ourselves just as we are and to accept others just as they are.

10. What is the difference between Sin and Original Sin? Answer with your 7:00 partner. Sin is the breach or breaking of the relationship that we have with God. Such as breaking his rules of the 10 commandments. Original Sin is Adam and Eve’s breaking of their relationship by thinking that they were greater than God and that they did not have to follow God’s rules so they ate of the fruit of the forbidden tree. Their eyes were opened and they saw that they had sinned against God and were ashamed.

11. Explain how forgiveness sets us free. Answer with your 1:00 partner. Various answers can be used as long as they pertain to how hatred hardens our hearts and only forgiveness can set us free. Hurt causes bitterness. Bitterness causes Anger. Anger can lead to pent up hatred. Hatred can lead to violence. Humans need to vent their frustrations or else we will blow up. It is best to vent to the person you are frustrated with! Forgiveness sets us free by allowing the anger to subside or be erased.

12. Explain your understanding on why God allows evil and suffering. Answer with your 9:00 partner. Various answers as long as they touch on the idea that: God puts people and situations into our lives to teach us life lessons and mature. God may want us to be stronger or God may want us to be less self-righteous and ask for help. God may need us to find strength in community and in relationships to help us copy with the situation.

13. Unit One Quiz You will be writing your quiz next class. The plan is that for the next 2 classes we will be watching a movie on Mother Teresa. We will be using her biography for you to show me what you have learned in unit one has been demonstrated in her life. The class following the movie we will go to the computer lab to write your paper. That will be the end of the unit. Therefore all unit one assignments including the paper must be completed to receive credit.
