DRAFT Vision By 2020 the Miami University Regional campus system will provide the best regional campus experience in the state, enhanced by accessible and affordable undergraduate and graduate degrees in the College of Professional Studies & Applied Sciences.

Provost's Goals 1.Prepare a 5-10 year business plan for our academic goals that outlines new degree programs, faculty needs, enrollment projections and cash flow implications; 2.Develop comparable goals and metrics relevant to the regional campuses based on the Miami 2020 Plan; 3.Develop a plan for enhancing student recruitment and enrollment, in consultation with the Office of Enrollment Management in Oxford; 4.Develop a plan for improving graduation and retention rates for regional campus students with a goal of achieving the highest graduation and retention rates among all regional campuses in Ohio, and 5.Set clearly-defined learning goals for all programs and departments and follow outcomes assessment practices as required by the HLC accreditation process

Timeline for Academic Divisions, Departments & Programs Miami 2020 Plan: August 21-October 14, 2013 August 21* Presentation of Miami 2020 metrics and discussion with academic administrators are held. August 26 Follow-up discussion on academic administrators’ feedback is held with President’s Executive Council (PEC). September 13 Department chairs and program directors submit preliminary responses to the Miami 2020 metrics survey to Deans. September 16- October 1 Deans review department and program responses and offer feedback. September 18 Council of Academic Deans discusses the possibility of implementing common strategies across divisions and units for specific goals and metrics. October 7University Senate review of departmental metrics and plan developments. October 14Chairs and program directors submit revised Miami 2020 metrics survey responses to Deans. *Bolded items pertain to department chairs and program directors.

Timeline for Academic Divisions, Departments & Programs Miami 2020 Plan: October 15-November 22, 2013 October 15-Nov.1 Deans synthesize department and program responses and develop preliminary divisional plans. October 16Discussion of progress at Academic Administrators’ Breakfast. October 21 At PEC meeting, Vice Presidents review the preliminary plans for the academic divisions. This may be a joint meeting with COAD. October 23 Council of Academic Deans will jointly review proposed strategies from all units, including all academic divisions, Vice Presidents, and the President. November 1 Vice Presidents and Deans submit preliminary divisional plans to the President and Provost. November 1 – 10 President and Provost review plans and offer feedback to Vice President and Deans. November 11-15 Vice Presidents and Deans revise plans based on President’s and Provost’s feedback. November 15-22President and Provost prepare report for submission to Board of Trustees. *Bolded items pertain to department chairs and program directors.

December 4Discussion of progress at Academic Administrators’ Breakfast. December 6Board of Trustees reviews report and votes on its approval. Winter-Spring 2014 President, Vice Presidents and Deans work with their unit and department leaders to further refine and begin implementation of detailed action plans to meet metrics and objectives. End of January, 2014 Provost reports to Faculty Assembly on the status of the academic, administrative, and support units’ plans. Summer 2014Baseline report on metrics and outcomes is developed with available data. Deadline for submission is TBA. *Bolded items pertain to department chairs and program directors.
