1. Book in a Box Ms. Graham

2. Book Project Requirements  Chapter book within your ZPD zone  Need to have book picked out by Friday, January 9.  Project is due Friday, January 23.  Be ready to present in front of the whole class.

3. Outside of your box  The top of your box must display the title of your book  2 sides of your box must contain 2 different quotes you found meaningful from the story and cite the page number(s) you found it from.  2 sides of your box must contain events, objects, or people that pertain to the story.  You need to be able to explain each of the quotes and your other two sides of your box.

4. Inside your box  MUST find 3-5 themes from your book and be able to explain how they relate to your story.  MUST include drawing, picture, or object of the setting(s).  MUST include 2-3 symbols found in your book.

5.  You MUST have your book when you present.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask and have fun!

6. Theme  a main idea or an underlying meaning of a literary work that may be stated directly or indirectly.  Examples: love, war, friendship, family, compulsion, revenge, honesty

7. Symbols  Represent significant events or characters in the book Exs) black =evil or death dove =peace chain =union or imprisonment
