High Impact Educational Practices Using NSSE data, Kuh (2008) was able to show generally positive relationships between high-impact practices (HIPs) and student learning and achievement. Kuh recommended that every student ought to experience at least two HIPs. Kuh further noted that underrepresented students—such as first-generation college and URM students —are far less likely to participate in any HIPs.

CSU-LSAMP Thailand Built on a CSU Fullerton initiative which has been sending students to participate in research at Chiang Mai University since 2000. First offered in Winter break 2013 – all students from CSUF. The summer 2013 LSAMP experience was funded by CSU-LSAMP and supported eight students from 7 CSU campuses - two math majors, three chemistry and three biology. The summer 2014 LSAMP experience required partial funding from the students’ home campuses.
