3 Welcome to Middle School  This power point presentation is designed to answer some of your burning questions!

35 When you are absent:  A parent should notify the office by 9:00 AM and pick up work between 2:00 and 4:00  The day you return, bring an excuse to the office and ask all your teachers for missed work

36 Do I have to take swimming?

37 YES!  Unless you have a medical excuse  Make up ALL missed classes

38 What do I need for gym class?

39  Shorts  Tee shirt  Sneakers  Be prepared to go outside, weather permitting  After gym class it is suggested you take a shower  You will have a gym locker with a lock on it to keep your gym clothes in  Make up all missed classes

49 bullying  Bullying is an act of repeated aggressive behavior in order to intentionally hurt another person, physically or mentally.  Behaviors may include name calling, verbal or written abuse, exclusion from activities, exclusion from social situations, physical abuse, or coercion.

50 Bullying  When confronted by a bully: –There is power in Numbers!  Ask the bully to stop when surrounded by friends –Distract the bully  Ex: “Hey jon, we’re going to be late to class.” –Be confident, assertive, and stay calm  Tell the bully to “stop it!”, “Leave me alone!”, “whatever!”
