6 P LURAL N OUNS A plural noun refers to more than one person, place, thing or idea.

7 P LURAL N OUNS For words that end in –x, -ch, - sh, add an es. Examples: box/boxes fox/foxes church/churches ranch/ranches bush/bushes

8 P LURAL N OUNS For words that end in a consonant plus y, change the y to an I and add –es. Examples: pony/poniesfly/flies butterfly/butterflies

9 P LURAL N OUNS Some words that end in –f or –fe have plurals that end in – ves. Examples: calf/calvesknife/knives
