Adverbs Modify verbs, adjectives, or adverbs
Tell how, when, where, etc. He drove slowly. (How did he drive? Modifies verb) He drove a very fast car. (How fast was his car? - Modifies adjective) She moved quite slowly down the aisle. (How slowly? Modifies adverb)

Begin with subordinating conjunctions Tell where, when, why, in what manner, to what extent, or under what conditions.

Examples: Because you are students, you have to do homework. Tells why When you are older, you will get a job. Tells when

Examples of Adverb Clauses
Wherever you lead, I will follow. Before you came to school, you got ready. As long as you are in school, you will have to write. I give you notes so that you will understand.
