Adverbs These lovely little things tell us how an action (verb) is being done. An adverb describes the verb. quickly Superman flew quickly. Quickly is the adverb.

How do you tell which word is an adverb? It’s dead easy! The dog barked loudly. 2 questions. What did the dog do? Barked (Verb) How did it do it? Loudly (adverb)

Adverbs in English It is really easy to spot an adverb in English as most of them end in ‘ly’ Quickly Loudly Hurriedly Noisily Quietly

Adverbs in Spanish It is just as easy to spot them in Spanish as they tend to end in ‘mente’. altamente seriamente sabrosamente

How to form adverbs in Spanish 1.Find the adjective. 2.Spell it in the feminine way. 3.Add ‘mente’ on the end. 1. Quick = adjective = rápido. 2.rápida 3.rápidamente and there you have ‘quickly’ in Spanish Piece of cake!!!

What is the adverb of ‘bad’ in English? Badly In English, this adjective and adverb follow the pattern. In Spanish they don’t What is the word for ‘bad’ malo and ‘badly’? mal Toco mal…I play badly
