What is a consonant? A consonant is a letter that is not a vowel Consonants are: b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y, z.

How to divide syllables (rule 1) If there is a short vowel sound, it should be a closed syllable Closed syllables end in consonants Divide the word after the consonant following a short vowel sound
