2. Hypothesis: Which test tube will pop first? Purpose: To identify a common type of anaerobic respiration.

3. Anaerobic Respiration Yeast in both Grape Juice Water Both test tubes contain yeast Test tube ‘A’ has grape juice in it.(sugar source) Test Tube ‘B’ has water in it. Both Test tubes are corked and you wait 45 minutes.

4. Predict what will happen? What will happen?

5. Observation and Data: Yeast in both Grape Juice Water You noticed: 1.Bubbles produced. 2.A noticeable odor. 3.Test Tube ‘A’ popped.

6. Questions: Why?  What anaerobic reaction took place?  Draw the reaction.  Why is this reaction anaerobic?  What were the bubbles?  Why didn’t the reaction take place in both test tubes?  (All answers must be in complete sentences…)
