1
The Scientific Method Conducting experiments like scientists
2
Ask a Question Start by asking a question about something you are observing or something that you notice. I wonder… What makes the green stuff grow fast?
3
Do a little research! Start finding out some information about how you can find the answer to your question! Go to the library! Do some internet searching! The green stuff is called mold! I can find out how mold grows on bread!
4
Make a prediction/hypothesis! I think that the mold grows fastest when it is hot and humid. I think that the mold grows slowest in a dry cold place.
5
Test your prediction by conducting an experiment! I will place one piece of bread in the fridge (COLD/DRY) I will place one piece of Bread in the bathroom (HOT/HUMID)
6
ANALYZE DATA Use pictures, graphs, tables to illustrate the data that you are collecting DAYSSAMPLE 1SAMPLE 2 1No mold growth 2 3
7
RESULTS Communicate your data What does your data say? Was your hypothesis correct?

9
CONCLUSION State your results. Explain your results. Give your take on why your hypothesis was correct or incorrect. Final thoughts.
