3 Telework Statistics More than 65 % of teleworkers are employed by companies with fewer than 100 employees. By 2008, 100 million people will work from home at least one day per month. U.S. teleworkers work from an average of 3.4 different locations!

6 A program of the Department of Rail and Public Transportation Provides two benefits to employers: –Assistance with developing or expanding a telework program –Financial incentives up to $35,000

7 Assistance with developing or expanding a telework program Technical expertise Development of telework policy Employee selection criteria Training (online and in person) for employees and managers

8 Financial Incentives up to $35,000 total Notebook computers/other equipment for teleworkers* 80% up to $3,500 per employee Server/other equipment*50% up to $10,000 Technical/Consultant Assistance 100% up to $25,000 Telework Center Use50% up to $10,000 per business *Lease costs

9 Eligibility Requirements Private sector company or non- profit organization At least 20 employees working at the participating site Eligible, participating employees should telework an average of 1 or 2 days per week (6 days per month)
