May 2008 Study Objective: Which LED combinations can achieve a match with the 3000K 100CRI Low Voltage Incandescent? Participants: 1 man (45 years old), 4 women (10, 12, 16 and 44 years old). Participants passed the Ishihara color test. Camera: Minolta Dimage 7i 5.0 Megapixel High Dynamic Range Images obtained from image stacking with exposure times from 4 sec to 1/125 sec High Dynamic Range Software: Photosphere Camera Reference Light Source Color: Minolta Daylight Cloudy Reference lamp in images on left: Low Voltage Halogen 20W 100 CRI 3000K Light source in images on right: LEDs Lumileds from April 2007

16 OS SSL AE Page 16 Oct 6, 2008, Dr. M Moeck Visual Matching of 3000K Low Voltage Incandescent with LED Combinations – a Pilot Study with 5 People Conclusions, continued Red-orange was rejected as a member for matching, since it created an artificial glow and seemed to too much of a good thing Every LED combination seemed to be missing the whitish-light yellow appearance of the low voltage incandescent Amber with white, green and red is necessary to achieve a CRI over 90 Without amber, the CRI hovers around 80
