1 Bromley’s Learning Disability Health Self Assessment Framework 2012 Update Final Scorings Claire Lewin

2 Quick Reminder On What We Did Last Year April to October 2012 NHS London sent out information on the Learning Disability Self Assessment Framework. We had our Getting Ready Meetings We asked local Health Services, the Council and Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group for Information.

3 Quick Reminder On What We Did Last Year April to October 2012 We had our Big Health Day Information and scores were sent to NHS London NHS London checked the information and scores. Bosses from both Organisations went to the Feedback Meeting in London.

4 Bromley’s Final Scoring Standard A – 10 Questions about people having their health needs met Final Scores 3 Reds , 6 Ambers , 1 Green Predicted Scores Amber  NHS London Overall Scores Amber  There were 3 Standards set and 30 Questions asked in this year’s Assessment.

5 Bromley’s Final Scoring Standard B – 4 Questions about people who need extra support Final Scores2 Greens, 2 Ambers  Predicted ScoresAmber  to Green NHS London Overall ScoresGreen

6 Bromley’s Final Scoring Standard C- 16 Questions about keeping people safe and having good services Final Scores3 Reds , 30 Ambers , 19 Greens Predicted ScoresAmber  to Green NHS London Overall ScoresAmber 

7 Questions Scored Red That We Need To Make Better - People having their health needs met  Registers do not hold the correct numbers of people with Learning Disabilities.  No flagging system for reasonable adjustments.  We don’t know how many Health Action Plans have been completed.

8 Questions Scored Red That We Need To Make Better – Keeping People Safe And Having Good Services  Checking how people with learning disabilities are kept safe. Checking that people who are not able to make a decision for themselves about treatment or the need to stay in hospital.

9 Questions Scored Red That We Need To Make Better – Keeping People Safe And Having Good Services  Checking that people who are not able to make decisions for themselves are treated properly if they need to stay in hospital when they don’t want to.

10 Questions scored Green that we are doing well  There is a good system in place for checking when GP’s complete Annual Health Checks. Bromley has good plans in place for people with Autism and people that need extra support with their Health needs.

11 Questions scored Green that we are doing well  Bromley has good person centred plans in place for people with learning disabilities. Service Users and Carers are involved in service planning and are listened to when things go wrong. Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS)

12 Questions scored Green that we are doing well  Care Services in Bromley involve Service Users in checking how their services are doing. Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group have good Agreements in place with Oxleas Foundation Trust to make sure that people are Safe and are receiving a good Service.

13 Final Outcome Overall the final scores show that we have made some good improvements in Local Health Services since last year, but we still have a lot more work to do.
