Hemoglobin (HB) is the conjugated protein present in red blood cells
Hemoglobin (HB) is the conjugated protein present in red blood cells. It gives the blood its characteristic red color.
4
The main function of hemoglobin is gas transport from the tissue to the lung and visa versa.

Materials Sahli’s hemoglobinometer. HCL. Distilled water. Dropper.
Stirrer. Equipment for sterile finger prick.
9
Hemoglobin is converted to acid hematin by the action of HCL
Hemoglobin is converted to acid hematin by the action of HCL. The acid hematin solution is further diluted until its color matches exactly with the standard of the comparator block, the hemoglobin concentration is read directly from the calibration tube.
