What is a Gateway? A landmark or streetscape that one first sees when entering the city or neighborhood. To communicate in a physical and visual form that one is beginning a new experience, either physically and / or psychologically.

Emerson Avenue Corridor Gateway Project Overview Emerson Avenue at I-70 is a “Front Door” – a Gateway– to Eastside communities and institutions Improve appearance in a way that is durable, appropriate in scale and character, and inviting Provide a sense of entry to the eastside while defining individual neighborhoods

Process Overview After 2006 Grant announced in July of following year Could take more than one year for grant Project will be done in phases Five year timeframe for completion
