EXISTING CONDITIONS Avondale Road carries 50,000 vehicles per day south of Novelty Hill Road and 33,000 north of Novelty. ITS EXPANSION King County’s Traffic Control Center (TCC) was completed in May 2004. The TCC equipment was designed with expansion capabilities and to meet future ITS needs in the County. The Avondale Road ITS corridor will tie into existing communication equipment for operation from the TCC.

PROJECT COST/SCHEDULE Project Cost The requested grant funds combined with local match from King County and the City of Redmond will provide for design and construction of a complete ITS system on Avondale Road between Novelty H Road and NE 132 nd St and Avondale Way/Redmond Way into Redmond Urban Center. Local Match $300,000 Grant Request: $1.9 Million Total Project Cost $2.2 Million Project Schedule Design Start: December, 2008 Construction Start: December, 2009 Construction End July, 2010
