4 BRAZILIAN FORESTS  Brazil has the largest tropical forest area (≈ ⅓ ) and holds the largest biodiversity on the planet.  Brazilian forests account for 520 million ha.  Plantations forests occupy 7.4 million ha.  Forest area per capita 2.7 ha.
