 Schedules are available today ◦ Review the schedules to make sure they are in the correct classes. ◦ Have them sorted and ready to hand out to students.  We want them to have new schedules because of room changes.  Students will show up where there schedule shows

 There will 75 minute rotations of the following: ◦ 1 Laptop Session ◦ 1 Student Success Session ◦ 3 Program Orientation Sessions  These are blocked and students will see one large session ◦ Each session will have a room and an instructor  The Instructor and Room may change dynamically

 JumpStart Courses (090 and/or 092) ◦ Located in My Current Courses for each group of 25 students  Note: Course goes away from “My Current Courses” after 2 weeks from your JumpStart Course Day ◦ Each Course is Shared by the presenters from Laptop, Student Success and the Program Area ◦ Example: BUS 090-7C on next slide

 Post Department Procedures, Handbooks or Policies  Hide Pages and/or Portlets You Aren’t Using  Develop a brief online test that they can take in your presence to see what it’s like ◦ Could be a review of your presentation or basics for STI life, your program, etc  Make a Forum Post Topic for them to Post To: ◦ What is the most exciting/scary thing about starting at STI?

 Goal Setting ◦ What do you want to accomplish? ◦ Who else has done this? ◦ What skills and resources will I need? ◦ What will I have to change in order to achieve my goal? ◦ What is my plan and how hard will I have to work? ◦ What small steps can I take right now? ◦ How have I been doing, what have I learned about myself?  Use these goals later for advising

 Thanks for all the work that goes into the Laptop Sessions, the Student Success Presentations and the Program Orientations.  This is one of the biggest retention events that we can do – let’s make it a great one!
