The responses for 4 or more times and I’ve used ‘other drugs, but not in the past 30 days were entered into the same response cell, invalidating those responses.

If neighboring responses were recorded, they were merged into one response by alternating the response “value” (1+2 =1, then 2, etc.), if the responses were separated, a “mean was calculated to the nearest whole number (1+3=2) etc. For consistency, the same procedure was used for the responses from 2008.
