8 C HECK FOR T EAM A LIGNMENT WITH M ISSION S TATEMENT (1:15 PM – 1:45 PM ) Is one or both of the following statements true for you? “I’m part of something good, great, or magnificent by participating in this organizations mission and vision” (Wagner). “I’m fulfilling my own personal, professional and soul-ful goals for my own development and my life by being here and participating in this” (Wagner )

9 C REATE A T EAM A GREEMENT ( 1:45 PM – 2:15 PM ) We just wrote a mission statement? Why do we need a team agreement? The Mission Statements is what we wish to convey to our clients, the Team Agreement is what we wish to convey to each other. What are the characteristics of the ideal Rentals “Dream Team”?

10 C REATE A T EAM A GREEMENT ( 1:45 PM – 2:15 PM ) “If our team is going to be a GREAT team and get the results we want to fulfill our mission, what would we need to be willing to do together?” Define these actions behaviorally: “What would that look like?” “How would someone know that was important to us?” (Wagner)

11 C REATE A T EAM A GREEMENT ( 1:45 PM – 2:15 PM ) Now what are we really saying? Let’s take all those behavior statements and turn them into and agreement! Is everyone on board with this team agreement? Edits? Additions? Objections?

13 C LEAR THE S WAMP (2:30 PM – 3:30 PM ) What is “Clear the Swamp”? Clear the Swamp is an exercise developed by Libby Wagner to “Help teams identify, assess and deal with issues and obstacles in the way of high performance” (Wagner). Clear the Swamp should be repeated bi-annually or annually for best results.

14 C LEAR THE S WAMP (2:30 PM – 3:30 PM ) Step 1: Gathering Data In which we answer the question “What are the issues and obstacles or problems preventing us from having high levels of productivity, trust and morale?” (Wagner) Step 2: Recording Data Recording every answer Step 3: Assessing Can this obstacle be removed? Is it worth it? Step 4: Prioritizing and Selecting Everybody pick your two favorite pet peeves Step 5: Discussion and Action Steps
