Crisis Support Many people are moved with compassion and feel compelled to help out when we hear about people who have been effected by natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes. The same compassion motivates us to contribute to helping people who are suffering from life threatening diseases such as breast cancer, AIDS, or diabetes. These are all very worthy causes that have catastrophic effects on people's lives, but crises takes on many more forms that often go unnoticed.

3. Crisis Support There are thousands of other people who desperately need help. They are experiencing their crisis outside of the newspapers and the evening news, in silence. They sit alone in cold, dark houses unable to pay their electric bills. They grieve tragic losses of loved ones not knowing how to cope. They fight to fend off homelessness. Some are recovered drug and alcohol addicts having trouble getting their grip back on life. Some are single mothers who work full time and go to school full-time, and lose use of their only means of transportation, or drop out of school because they cannot afford childcare. There is also a large number of abused and battered women who need our help.abused and battered women
