8 TPCL T20 FIRST EVER DRAFT TOURNAMENT
Charlottetown Park, Toronto – Draft tournament has been the best of the TPCL so far. Apart from all the competitive mindset the players loved the opportunity to play together. There were 5 managers that owned teams: Jeyanthan (Siruthaigal), Mohan (Destroyers), Nesan (Rebels), Milroy (Strikers) and Sanjay (Hunters). Each manager drafted twelve players for their teams with the goal to win. The Hunters went 5 -1 in their games and their only loss came in the final to the Siruthaigal. Siruthaigal became the champs of the first draft tournament in TPCL history. The draft tournament was held with one goal of bringing all the players together. The players got the opportunity to talk and play with players that they never would have experienced otherwise. Those who came with negative opinions about other teams and its players were surprised. They realized how wrong they were and thanked TPCL for providing such an opportunity. As the tournament went on players became friendly and supportive of each other. The togetherness did not end at the grounds. The winning manager Jeyanthan invited everyone to join for dinner at Chinese restaurant. At the restaurant, the players sat together in a big group and had dinner as one TPCL team. Those who participated in the tournament continue to enjoy the good friendship that they have created through the tournament. The others who missed the opportunity are eagerly waiting for it next year.
