Teacher Notes This presentation uses the term “weight” throughout. This is mainly for the benefit of primary/elementary school teachers as the younger children at primary school are not introduced to the concept of mass. Teachers who wish to use mass should simply use the Edit/Replace All command. Most of the work has focused on a 1kg scale (first 23 slides) with a variety of problems and it is likely that you will want to cover this sequentially. After this an extra 32 slides have been added that give a choice of different scales/subdivisions. There are 8 new scales each giving 4 examples. They are ½ kg, 400 g, 600 g, 800 g, 1 kg (different to the first), 2 kg, 4 kg and 5 kg. It is likely that you will want to dip in and out of these as you see fit depending on your class.
