3 Strategies for Writers Grade 7 © Zaner-Bloser, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Sentence Types An interrogative sentence asks a question and ends with a question mark. Are hammerhead sharks dangerous to humans? How did you mow the lawn all by yourself?

The two clauses can be joined by a comma (,) and a coordinating conjunction (and, but, or or), or by a semicolon (;). Many early airplanes were simple gliders, but the Flyer had a gasoline-powered engine. Gorillas reinforce bonds by grooming each other; it allows close interaction between the two animals.
