The Kakapo Parrot This kind of parrot is not only the heaviest bird in the world but it’s also the only flightless and nocturnal one.

Chinese Giant Salamander The Chinese Giant Salamander is the world’s largest amphibian that faces extinction for it’s over exploitation as a food source.

Amur(or Siberian) Tiger This endangered specie is the largest big cat in the world can live in temperatures so low like 50 degrees Fahrenheit. In the year 1930 their population went down to about 40 individuals but has gone back up again to almost over 500 thanks to protection programs.

Leatherback Sea Turtle This is the earth’s biggest turtle that has lived for over 100 million yrs until now it also faces extinction just like the Amur (or Siberian) Tiger.

Cross River Gorilla Due to the Ebola virus and poachers who sell gorilla’s for their food in the West African markets only 300 remain today.

Northern Right Whale This whale is the most endangered whale in all of the world with a population of around 350 left.

Greater Bamboo Lemur The Greater Bamboo Lemur is native to Madagascar, and there are less than 100 remaining in the islands south eastern and south central forests.

Java Rhinoceros In the wester tip of the island of Java is one of the most endangered rhinos with just about 40-60 of them remaining. Also the very last member was sadly killed in Vietnam’s Cat Tien national park two years ago in 2011.

Amur leopard The Amur Leopard lives only in the snowy northern forests of eastern Russian’s primorye region. But now their extinct in Korea and Northern China with their population of just 14-20 adults and 5-6 young cubs.

Ivory Billed Woodpecker This bird is rare but unconfirmed sights give us a little hope that a small number of them are still living.
