4.  Produced silent movies for the deaf about and including sigh language

6.  Deaf people loved his movies but hearing people thought it was a waste of time. Of course it was still in the time period where they treated deaf people like a joke.

7.  Brought asl to the community in a different way. He did this with his shorts and films. Which mainly went unnoticed by the general hearing public until “rediscovered and watched repeatedly.
