2. Vocabulary Congruent – having the same size and shape Corresponding – when given congruent polygons, vertices or sides that would line up (match) Congruent polygons – polygons whose corresponding parts are congruent

3. Try this: Fold a piece of paper in half. Without opening the paper, draw a polygon on one side. Make the polygon be a Scalene ▲. With the paper folded, cut out your polygons and label all vertices. (use different letters) Place one polygon over the other so that the sides and angles match. Make a list of the corresponding parts of your figures. How many corresponding pieces are there? If you were to measure the sides, what conclusion could you draw?
