Present Simple Tense Formation (1) Statement clause: Verb in third person singular + -s/-es He plays the piano. Other persons retain their infinitive form They play football.

Present Simple Tense Formation (2) Interrogative clause: Do/Does + statement clause They play football. Do they play football? He plays the piano. Does he play the piano?

Present Simple Tense Formation (3) Negative clause: Subject - do not (don’t)/does not (doesn’t) - predicate They do not play football. He does not play the piano.

Present Simple Tense Usage Naming the facts The earth moves around the Sun. Casual actions that repeat in time (adverbs of frequency: always, usually, often, sometimes, never, every day/month/year...) He often goes to cinema. I go to the dentist every month. Habitual actions She usually drinks tea at 5 o’clock. I sleep after work every afternoon.
