INDEFINITE PRONOUNS SOMEONE / ANYONE SOMETHING / ANYTHING

SOMEONE ( ) / ANYONE ( ,?) These pronouns refer to people. Someone: is only used in affirmative sentences. Eg: There is someone in the bathroom

Anyone: is used in negatives and interrogatives. Eg: There isn’t anyone in the bathroom. Eg: Is there anyone in the bathroom?

SOMETHING ( ) / ANYTHING ( ,?) These pronouns refer to things. Something is only used in affirmatives. Eg: She buys something every day.

Anything: “nada” in negatives and “algo” in interrogatives: Eg: She doesn’t buy anything every day. Eg: Does she buy anything every day?

REMEMBER… Someone / something only used in affirmatives. Anyone / anything are used in interrogatives and negatives.
