3. Today’s Assignment Today, we will be discussing the daily procedures in the classroom. This is important because in order for us to have a successful year, we need to set norms that will help keep everyone on task.

4. Class Rules 1. Be Punctual : In YOUR seat BEFORE the tardy bell. 2. Be Prepared : Have all materials and be ready to work. 3. Be Respectful : Respect teachers, classmates, property, and yourself. 4. Be Responsible : Follow ALL Gage Middle School Rules and Policies. 5. Be Engaged : Promptly follow all teacher instructions and lesson requirements. 6. Be Safe : Handle all supplies and computers carefully and only after receiving full instruction on how to do so.

5. Class Procedures Using the handout, summarize the classroom procedures discussed.

6. Beginning of the Class Walk in quietly and copy the daily goal and homework into your agenda books (I will come around and stamp your agenda) Begin dispatch in your notebooks Put your PRC or any document that I need to sign on the corner of your desk. If you are late, sign the tardy log at the door when entering.

7. Turning in Assignments Turn in your work in the “INBOX” container at the entrance when you walk into the class room. I suggest you take your homework out in the hallway before you enter. If you are turning in absent work, write “ABSENT” on the top of your paper.

8. Communication in the Class Raise your hand to talk and ask questions. Stay seated at all times unless given permission to be out of your seat. Work quietly on your assignments unless I allow group /partner work.

9. Bathroom Procedure Go to the bathroom BEFORE you come to class. You CAN NOT use the bathroom in the first or last 10 minutes of the class If you need to use the bathroom, raise your hand and wait quietly to ask for permission. You will need your agenda as a pass. NO AGENDA= NO BATHROOM

10. End of Class Put away all materials and sit in your seat quietly to be dismissed by table. Extra copies of current and past assignments will be on the table by the exit filed according to day of the week.
