Opaque MSRP Path Uri Derek MacDonald
2
Overview Provides topology (IP address) hiding – Hide network architecture – Hide individual IP addresses Depends on draft-ietf-simple-msrp-acm Will not be supported by MSRP-Relays without an extension to rfc4976
3
Operation The MSRP path attribute is constructed with a cryptographically unique Uri in.invalid.com a=path:msrp://f7jey483rydfhkyerky3.invalid.com:7394/jshA7 weztas;tcp;opaque Defines the msrp-opaque option tag, which MUST be in a Requires header when used with SIP User Agents
4
Globally Unique Flow Tag Side effect: Is it interesting? Might be useful; internal IP addresses will often collide However, easy to fix in ACM – Already 80 bits of randomness in a session-id – Stronger session-ids could be mandated in ACM
5
Future Direction Is there interest in this becoming a working group item? Should this be a separate doc or an optional component of msrp-acm?
