4 4 How to Present an Evangelistic Sermon  Develop a theme (for the sermon) and study it.  Begin the sermon with calmness, present the theme clearly, without screaming. Stick to the theme.

5 5 How to Present an Evangelistic Sermon cont’d.  Do not read the sermon as it will tend to become monotonous. Do not repeat the same idea many times.  Look at the listeners in all directions – never look only to one side.

6 6 How to Present an Evangelistic Sermon (cont’d.) Use simple words that express God’s love. Each word should be pronounced clearly, without haste and with the proper intonation, especially exalting Christ.

10 10 Preparation of the Evangelistic Campaign 1. The Team: The size of the team depends on the (type of) campaign and the available personnel. The following persons should form part of the team: A voluntary preacher » A helper – preacher substitute » Music coordinator » Receptionists (take names, » addresses » of visitors) » Bible instructor couples (visit, » give studies)

Children’s coordinator (take care of children) An intercessory prayer group (all members of the team should be a part of this prayer group – pray for interested persons, etc.) 2. Preparing the territory: Conduct surveys, do visitations in the area, distribute literature, work through small groups and do Bible studies.

Preparing the territory (cont’d.):  To achieve success for the evangelistic series it is necessary to dedicate a period of 3 to 4 months in order to prepare the interested persons.  To find interested persons and give Bible studies.  To invite those interested persons to the small groups.  Have a seminar to attend to their needs.

The meetings can be at the church, or in a room, in a small group, in a home, in a garage or in a tent. What kind of place?What kind of place? The most important thing is that the place must be agreeable. It must be clean and have good ventilation and illumination. A table can be used as the pulpit. The evangelistic campaign promotion: The invitations for the beginning of the evangelistic meetings should be delivered a day before (as a follow up from a week or more before) so that the persons cannot forget the day nor the hour of the meetings.

Reception: Someone at the door to receive the interested persons and write down their names and address, identifying the person who invited them. 21 21 The evangelistic campaign: Conclusion: To evangelize is the all-important commission left by Jesus.
