Romans 1:16,17 –Theme: Salvation by faith in Christ Gospel of ChristMessage of salvation: Gospel of Christ “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’” How Sinners Receive Salvation

7
Romans 10:1-5 –Paul grieved for the Jews who sought salvation through the Law of Moses. “Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God… Paul Grieved for the Jews
8
“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, The man who does those things shall live by them.” Paul Grieved for the Jews Romans 10:1-5 –Paul grieved for the Jews who sought salvation through the Law of Moses.
9
Romans 10:1-5 –Paul grieved for the Jews who sought salvation through the Law of Moses. –Ignorant of God’s plan to make men right with Himself, they made a plan of their own. –They failed to see the Law could not save but pointed to the need for a Savior. Paul Grieved for the Jews
10
“But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, 'Who will descend into the abyss?' (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).” No Need to Seek a Savior Who Was Yet to Come Romans 10:6-7 –Do not seek for a savior to come. Christ the Savior has already come.
11
Romans 10:6,7 –Do not seek for a Savior to come. Romans 10:9,10 –Faith in and confession of Christ are necessary for salvation—to be right with God. –Faith and confession that Jesus is Lord and Savior—not mere faith in faith. “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Faith in and Confession of Christ
14
Romans 10:11-13 –Jesus is Lord and Savior of all men who will believe in Him. “For the Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame. For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” How Sinners Receive Salvation
15
Romans 10:13-17 –God’s plan for saving man is outlined step by step. “For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? 16
“And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, ‘Lord, who has believed our report?’ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Step by Step Romans 10:13-17 –God’s plan for saving man is outlined step by step.
