(Done) 6: Implementation of energy saving projects to achieve selected targets. (On Going) 7: Adoption of sustainability standards for the construction of new buildings or facilities. 9 McGILL UNIVERSITY - ENERGY SAVING PROJECTS – 2007 TO 2009

10 McLENNAN AND REDPATH LIBRARIES ENERGY SAVINGS PROJECT

11 JAMES ADMINISTRATION PILOT PROJECT OCCUPANCY LIGHTING CONTROLS IN PUBLIC SPACES

12 WHAT CAN YOU DO Last person to leave the room turns the lights off. Ensure door is fully closed entering/leaving a building. Walk up or down the stairs when possible. Lower the temperature a few degrees in the shower and reduce shower time. Avoid opening windows as a temperature control mechanism. Search for the energy star label for electric devices. Get involved, share and explore ideas and become an ambassador of sustainability/energy saving. Examples of some students projects: Campus energy mapping Solid biomass cogeneration
