Site: Parseport.com/bi MENUBAR ”Data mining”, ”Business analysis”, ”Point Of Sales collection” etc. – all abbreviations on performing the same task of collecting sales and inventory data from your sales channel. In lack of a simpler and more commonly understandable term, we use ”Business Intelligence” – or B.I. in short. Knowing the sales/runrate and inventory situation of your partners is essential to: -Forecast production -Pinpoint marketing possibilities -Foresee over- and understock situations Can you do it yourself? Yes - absolutely. Is it efficient? No – definetely. Why? Because just as you would outsource IT hosting, telecommunications, security, car leases and cleaning, B.I. works the same way. 95% of B.I. is tedious administration work that will not grow your business. The last 5% is where you analyze the data and base your decisions on whether to rethink a marketing campaign or increase production/purchases.

Site: Parseport.com/bi/products MENUBAR ParsePort offers three levels of data processing to get the insight you want. Normally they are offered in sequential order, but each level can be selected individually depending on your needs Level 1: Data Collection Level 2: Data Cleaning Level 3: Data Presentation

Site: Parseport.com/bi/products/datacollection MENUBAR The common approach to data collection is to lay out a reporting template and have your partners report in this. Advantages: Less administration work on receiver side. Disadvantage: More administration work on sender side. Keep in mind that you are most likely not the only supplier of products to your sales channel. For too long, suppliers has been forcing different reporting templates onto the sales channel resulting in an overheated scenario where negative pushback from partners is more of a rule than an exception. ParsePort has specialized in accepting virtually any data format (Excel,.txt/.csv, EDI, XML etc.). The sales channel can report through us any way their system is set up – as long as it holds key components like product numbers, dates, names etc. In Data Collection, we: -Collect sales and inventory data from the sales channel at given intervals (usually weekly or monthly) -Enforce a reminder process so missing and/or flawed reports are retrieved and fixed (optional) -Break down the data and pass it on in a unified format specified by the supplier

Site: Parseport.com/bi/products/datacleaning MENUBAR What happens if multiple distributors in the sales channel sell to the same customers but name them differently? And what if a reseller does not supply correct barcodes or official product numbers – but only internal product codes? In Data Cleaning we make sure that customer identities, part numbers/descriptions, post codes, country names etc. are identically formatted – just as we perform tasks like currency conversion and interpolation of e.g. monthly to weekly information. In Data Cleaning, the power of outsourcing B.I. is fully unleashed. Before, every supplier should match ”Customer X” to ”customer_x” from different reports – but by using ParsePort you are benefitting from a match that has was most likely already done centrally for another supplier. The detail level output from data cleaning obviously depends on which data is fed into the system. Please get in touch with us for an in-depth explanation.

Site: Parseport.com/bi/products/datapresentation MENUBAR Now that you have all your data in a unified format, what do you do with it? If you have an in-house displaying solution (like a CRM system), data can be fed directly from the Data Collection or Data Cleaning process. But if you do not have a solution, ParsePort offers various displaying tools. This ranges from advanced, updateable spreadsheets with ”traffic light”- colorcoding and ”what-if”-functionality to our iPhone/iPad/Android app where data is displayed in an unparalled simple way. The tools can be mixed to match your preference: Maybe a customized spreadsheet is the right tool for your marketing department while the iPhone app is the right choice for account managers and mobile sales staff? The choice is yours.

Site: Parseport.com/bi/faq MENUBAR Q: Will my data be available to other parties? A: Absolutely not. ParsePort is not a data analysis company and in no way comparable to e.g. GFK, IDG or similar partners. We do not sell competitor data, nor do we perform market share analyses. ParsePort is a ”closed circuit” system for sales and inventory tracking purposes. Q: Who owns the collected data – and which problems will I face in e.g. a termination scenario? A: ParsePort do not ”own” any data. The data ultimately belongs to the data supplier – and if he has agreed to transfer this data to you, you are the owner. The raw data is always available to our customers. Q:

Site: Parseport.com/bi/about MENUBAR ParsePort was founded in 2009 by Michael Krog (former CEO of pan-Nordic distribution Boston Distribution and EMEA director of gaming peripherals manufacturer SteelSeries) and Kim Eriksen (former product manager for Danish distributor GS Scandinavia and Nordic sales manager at 3Dconnexion – a Logitech company). The people within ParsePort have all been employed on one or usually more levels within the sales chain – be it reseller, distributor and/or vendor level. We have all experienced the challenges in the reporting scenario and the main drive for creating ParsePort has been to minimize workload for all parties while still providing highly effective intelligence In 2011, ParsePort expanded our portfolio to include data conversion for the financial sector using the XBRL data language. ParsePort is based in Copenhagen, Denmark and thereby operates on CET timezone enabling us to perform time-critical updates for both Europe, USA and Asia. ParsePort was profitable from first year, is AAA-rated and has never utilized any credit facilities.
