Chosen! Adopted! Redeemed! Accepted! Forgiven! Endowed! Sealed! Fireworks in the Heavenlies

We must see these truths for ourselves... Chosen! Adopted! Redeemed! Accepted! Forgiven! Endowed! Sealed!

Two Obstacles   We were dead and needed to be redeemed unto God.

Two Obstacles   The Jews and Gentiles were divided and needed to be reconciled to each other.

Ephesians 2:1-3 And you... were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,

according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit [attitude] that now worketh in [energizes] the children of disobedience: Ephesians 2:1-3 (cont.)

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Ephesians 2:1-3 (cont.)

Ephesians 4:17-18 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

Ephesians 4:17-18 (cont.) Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God [distance] through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.

A Boy and a Judge

Children of Disobedience   The gravity of the offense is determined by how much authority you had the audacity to ignore to get what you wanted.

Children of Disobedience   The reason for our insensibility to sin: frequent disobedience.

Children of Disobedience   Unless our view of our sinfulness is kept right through frequent meditation and regular preaching on the subject, we cannot get the Christian life right.

Children of Wrath   What is your tolerance of vomit?

II Peter 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again.

Children of Wrath   God’s wrath is the revulsion of His moral excellence against wickedness in the creature that causes a righteous and severe response to it.

II Thessalonians 1:7-9 The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

II Thessalonians 1:7-9 (cont.) Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.

Romans 1:18, 20 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Romans 1:18, 20 (cont.) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Revelation 6:15-17 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Revelation 6:15-17 (cont.) And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Children of God   The babe lying in a manger in a Bethlehem stable was to become a sacrifice to atone for sin.

Children of God   On the cross, Jesus Christ became a lightning rod that attracted all the fury of the righteous anger of God against the sin of men.

Children of God   His resurrection was the proof that God’s holiness was satisfied.   The various blessings of the Christian life come because we are “in Christ.”

Children of God   You cannot understand or live Christianity well unless you understand how central Jesus Christ is to this whole arrangement.

What Is He Doing Here?

What Is Done for the Groom Is Done for the Bride!   Now you are “in the family.”   Beg God to show you the excellency of these things. Ask Him to show you the beauty of His plan and the wonder of His love.

Children of God Tell me the old, old story Of unseen things above, Of Jesus and His glory, Of Jesus and His love. Unused slide
