What About Students in Adventist Schools? Did you know that 85% of those graduating from academies go on to college? Did you know that 80% of students in Adventist colleges graduate from college?

Church’s and Pastor’s Influence According Dr. Edwin Hernández’ AVANCE research, 95% of our Latino youth are attending public schools. Therefore, the Latino youth in our local churches are reflected in this national data. The gatekeepers and leaders of our SDA Latino youth are the local church pastors. As Hispanics in the Adventist community, we share a mutual responsibility to change these demographics.

Vision for ALCANCE We are committed to enhancing Christian Education for Latino students throughout the Pacific Union Conference and NAD. We are committed to mentoring Latino youth. We are committed to increasing access of Latino SDA young people to SDA colleges and universities. Therefore, impacting the growth of Latino leaders and professionals in our churches.

Pastor’s Influence The AVANCE research indicates that 85% Latino youth who attend SDA schools stay in the local SDA church. Both our Latino youth and the local church benefit from SDA education. The Pastor’s influence is the KEY to this taking place.

Your Church Does your church have academy age children who would like an Adventist education? Does your church have members who support Adventist education and could be mentors to young people? Are you as a pastor supportive of Adventist Education? If the answer is “YES” to all of the above, then participate in ALCANCE !
