USCIS Overview USCIS has 84 field offices in the United States. We administer the Immigration and Nationality Act within the United States. USCIS employees have no arrest authority. We are the only customer service agency within DHS. 3

Grant Immigration Benefits USCIS conducts interviews for green cards, citizenship, and other immigration benefits USCIS welcomes 3,200 new citizens and 2,400 new permanent residents Five Service Centers decide cases where a face-to-face interview is not required 5
